Rebecca
teamed up with another favorite Boston area vocalist, Steve Marvin,
for two swingin' nights of music at Sculler's. Parris and Marvin had talked
about doing a gig together for many years. They paired up on ballads such as
"I'm Glad There Is You" and "The Nearness of You" and uptempo tunes
like
"Billie's Bounce" and "That Old Black Magic.
Both nights featured three seasoned musical vets - pianist Brad Hatfield,
bassist Peter Kontrimas and drummer Kenny Hadley. Special guest on Thursday
was Herb Pomeroy who is in high demand on jazz gigs all over the world since
retiring from Berklee College of Music and Friday featured Mike Monaghan who
can be heard regularly with the Boston Pops Orchestra.
