Interplay Jazz Camp
The camp provides an oportunity for musicians of all ages to participate in a
relaxed and supportive learning environment with an experienced faculty who
focus on key aspects of the body, mind and soul. Daily seminars for all
students delve into jazz improvisation, theory, composition, ear training and
repertoire as well as yoga and meditation. Master classses focus on topics
related to your specific instrument (voice, saxophone, piano, guitar, brass
instrumetns, bass and drums). Daily combo rehearsals and jam sessions with
faculty provide many hours of jazz play. Faculty and student performances
will round out the week, giving everyone the opportunity to express what they
have learned through music.
A typical day at Interplay will involve the following:
early morning meditation
group warm-ups (instrumental and vocal)
theory/improvisation class (all levels)
ear training class
master class on your instrument with Interplay Instructor
combo rehearsals with Faculty Coach
yoga class and meditation with Gopal Bello
free time (swim, hike, individual practice, nap)
three delicious and nutritious meals
informal faculty concert
jam sessions with faculty members
jazz video viewing/jazz history class
